Arte Gravada

Printmaking, memory and popular culture meet in ten banners from the Museu de Arte da Pampulha collection. The exhibition presents Estandartes de Minas after its restoration, returning to public view a collective artistic investigation begun in 1974.

The curatorial approach connects the material qualities of woodcut with the imagery and traditions of Minas Gerais. The works invite attention to drawing and carving, to the relationships between the four artists, and to the meanings the banners acquire as they circulate again. Presented by Casa Fiat de Cultura and the City of Belo Horizonte, the exhibition connects research, conservation and access to cultural heritage.
