Poder sair, poder chegar, poder viver
Dialogues between 14 artists and the Museu Mineiro collection
Contemporary artists and works from the Museu Mineiro collection meet in narratives of movement, arrivals, departures and possible futures. Painting, sculpture, photography and audiovisual work come together in the context of cultural spaces reopening.
Inspired by the song Terra Prometida by Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho, the exhibition explores freedom of movement and the experience of encountering art again after pandemic isolation. Works by invited artists enter into dialogue with the museum’s holdings, bringing together different generations and media.
Highlights include videos made by Paulo Nazareth in 2012 and 2013 and Tarsila do Amaral’s Natureza print series. The exhibition creates encounters between images, experiences of time and the prospect of renewed collective life.
